Timing issues

Here is the problem, I have a rebuilt 351w with the timing at 10 degrees before tdc. When I try to take off fast it bogs down until I let up on the pedal. And then when I shut it off it does that continious running thing and spits back through the carb. There is also lifter chatter when I increase rpm's but goes away when I back the timing down. I lined my timing marks up perfectly when installing the timing set. And I am almost certain I installed my disty correctly. I checked everywear for vac leaks- none! It is in a 70 f-100 with a pertronix ignitor system. When I cold start it, of course I pump the gas a couple of times but if it doesnt fire right off I have to crank on it for minute with out pumping the gas. Any suggestion to solve this driving question would be helpful.
Thanks Tony

Try pulling the Pertronix unit & installing the points back & see what happens

I thought about that I will do that today. Have you had to do that? Did it help? I will let you know how mine turns out.

Before you do that, try retarding your timing five degrees or so. The run-on and the "lifter chatter" (which is probably preignition,) suggest that it is just over advanced. The distributor may need to be recurved.
