My dad just bought a truck that was sold to him as a 1945 Ford
I have the enigne number 700569 and model# 593T he bought this truck fully restored and in running condition what is this truck worth it has the V8 with a flatbed with wood rails, says the truck is rated for 13500lbs. Can anybody give me more info on this truck it would be greatly appreciated.
There isn't a lot of info for that year of truck, however from what I could find a 598T is a 158" WB for 1945, I wonder if the 3 is really an 8, they didn't strike the numbers sometimes very well. Was there a Star stamped on each end of the number? The T indicates v8 I believe. The other 700569 is a sequencal mfg number.
Sorry to keep sticking in to your string but, The best information is found on top of the frame beside or very near the steering box. You probably need a wire brush and work a little while to find it.
I got those numbers out of the glove box the numbers were pretty clear I will check the other spots today overall the truck is in great shape anybody know approx what its worth the truck runs drives no rust, totally restored.
I've seen these types of trucks go for 10-20 thousand and more depending on the level of restoration. The most popular are the 1/2 tons. From what I know the larger trucks are popular with more of a specialized group of people. This summer there should be several car-truck shows close to where you live, check them out and see if there are trucks similar to what you have. Check the web, now and then you can find one for sale. Its none of my business but you know what your dad gave for it, was he trying to turn it over for a profit? There are folks in this forum that own these types of trucks. Hopefilly someone will respond
