I am lookink to blow some money on a 4x4 or a Mustang, but I cant deside what i want to build. any input on what you would do or think i should do would be great, thanks.
I dunno... how much are you looking to spend? If you have $10k-30k lying around, then 4x4. Youll have one stout, well-built 4x4, but nothing too fancy.
If you have $60k-120k, then '69 mustang. For the hot rods, customs, and muscle cars, you either go big or go home IMO. The $20k jobbies tend to be a laughing matter, unless you know how to fab a hella lot of parts by yourself and can get a really good deal on everything else that you can't or don't. But what do I know...
4X4!!!!!! You'll have more fun and it's less expensive than to run a well equipped Mustang. You paint your truck with primer and it'll look great.....can't do that with a Mustang....it's gotta be a nice flashy color. Just my 3 cents.
you post in the offroad forum whcih we would rather choose? lol
my dad and i have rebuilt mustangs, a torino, corvettes, a bel-air, and a jeep ****** and I have to say that i would MUCh rather build an offroad machine! there is just way too much detail and picky-ness that is associated with rebuilding a sweet car, obviously you want it to look badazz. an offroad machine will do that with some larger tires and a sweet hittin motor!

All depends how well you like to equip your 4x4. There's FAR more to spend money on in a 4x4 then there ever will be in a Mustang. Other than the initial cost of the Stang they're relatively cheap to work on unless you want to go all original and do a total resto. You can build a pretty nasty fast, NICE looking Mustang for not a whole lot of money if you do the work yourself.
How about you just build what you want to instead of caring what other people think. Peer pressure sucks.
I say it depends on what you want. I have both, i have a low 12 second mustang, and a fairly capable bronco.
The mustang sports a built 306, kenne bell supercharger and all the bolt ons, price including cost of car, 16K, maybe more.
The Bronco is a 74 Bronco, so they are hard to find, so i wont included that price in it. But a good built wheeler, 60s front and rear, lift, lockers, tires will run you just as much. Do you want to go fast, and have something you can daily drive, or do you want a weekend toy?
I agree with the others here that you would be better off going with a 4x4, just because of the fact that there are more things overall that you could do, i personally would go with a 78 or 79 big bronco and a big block. but hey theres somethiun women like about a pickup man. my trail rig is a 77 F 150 with a 351c and puttin on 35s just a mild little truck that can get around well and still be practical. I just think your hotrod wont pull your boat and not good for huntin campin ect. but mustangs are nice your call and this is just my opinion.
I would go with a 4x4. I used to have a Cadillac Seville and it was a nice car and all but god it sucked having to ride with friends when it came time to go 4x4ing. A month after I paid that car off I got the truck I drive now.
