Alright....so whats the highest anyones ever jumped their truck? I was out today taking my truck over some hills getting some air. Since it's my daily driver I didn't press it. We got the front maybe 3' and the rear maybe 1'....I didn't wanna break anything. I used to have a bone stock 1993 Explorer 4x4. A buddy and I got a honest 5' of air in that thing. Scared the crap outta us cause we didn't mean to get that high. Then we landed going down hill on the front tires. We just bounced hard a few times. We probably flew a good 70ft. I know that we had enough time while in the air to look at eachother......that was a picture worth a million bucks. His eyes were so huge and he said I was laid back in my seat lol.
That same Explorer that I got some air in....I ended up wrecking it that spring. I was going down some gravel and I floored it to listen to my open exhaust. About that time I hit a ice spot and it started fishtailing back and forth. I couldn't get it to stop. It grabbed some traction while sideways and shot off the road. Off the road, it got a lil air going over a road ditch. Then it hit the hill on the far side of the ditch. It really caught some air there and rolled over. To top it all off my parents were behind me in their van. When it came to a stop the subwoofers were still playing.
Well my parents were shocked that I was climbing out of it when they pulled up. They said that it hit that hill so hard that I should have been knocked out. All I remember was seeing the frontglass fill with grass then a ton of blue sky, then alot more grass. I can also remeber hearing loud bangs from the tires blowing when they hit the ground. I forget the song lol. I think it was 50cent though.
well me and 10 other of my friends were pilled into a 98 ford conversion van, we jumped an old wooden bridge and got every bit of 3 feel and completely cleared the flat part landing with the rear end on the down side of the bridge, it was absolutely amazing..lol
I jumped my parents old chevy station wagon over rail road tracks we got about 4 feet of air and broke an axle on the landing. Wicked as a mother though
slow jumped my 350. front end got 3 feet, rear none. all the shock was absorbed immeadiately/vertically (bad) instead of over a long landing and through horizontal travel (good) bc we were going so slow...
I unintentionally jumped my racing truck out the end of a mud pit 4th of July last year. Everyone in the crowd said I was about 4' in the air. I really couldn't tell, but it blew out the drivers side 39.5 Bogger. It was a hell of a ride. Hopefully I can get the video of it on soon. I just bought a VHS to DVD burner. So videos are coming soon.
This inspired me last night. We took out a junk ranger like its gone but it runs just no body for the most part. We got a GOOD 6 feet all around and landed in mud so Im not sure how the truck would ahve landed if it wouldnt have dug in.
I've had it bouncing pretty good goin' through some Woop-Dee-Doo's but it's my daily driver so I have to play it safe. I'd be interested to see how much air I could get if I put my foot to the floor. I saw a vid a while ago where an old Ranger was jumped. It was a pretty extreme jump on a dirtbike track and the truck must have got 5-10ft vertical and landed 50-75ft from the jump. When the truck landed it just crumpled into a heap with a bent frame and the driver ended up in a whole lotta hurt from being flung around in the cab after the impact.
