Those inlines sound great when they're workin! I hauled a truck home on a big car hauler with my 84. You can really hear the pipes when there is a trailer behind the truck. Love that sound!
they sound like some evil has crept up under the hood.....like a pullin tractor or something.
next weekend, F-Superduty rear springs.....i cracked my pass side this weekend. o well, dad says he made me break it so he's getting me the new ones. free upgrade. otta hold alot more when we go get the gravel pretty soon...
Be careful on what springs you put on the back, don't forget you only have a 1/2 ton frame under there! Our trucks are tough but we need to know when to stop pushing them! You'll love the 4bbl, I have headers and a 2bbl Holley 2300 on my 84 with a 4 speed, 4.10s, and 33s...she loves to pull! Offy DP on the way...bad part is it's back ordered 3-2 weeks! By the time I am done I should be well over 200 hp and 320 tq Not bad for a lil 300 with mostly stock internals!
Yes the 300 engine will pull. I worked vehicle maintenance for a newspaper we had
18 p500's and 3 p600's that left the plant every night with three
ton on them and sometimes more. They were subjected to any number
of drivers and were pushed harder then they should have been, and
still most times went 130,000 miles before it was time to rebuid them.
Biggest problem was the exhaust manifolds would warp up on the
back end and push up the intake causing a leak at the heat riser gasket.
One darn good engine and while my contact with the 292 Chevy was
limited it too was good but not as good as the 300 in my opinion.
the springs arent for the weight, its so when i am carrying the payload and trailer it doesn't get to light on the front, and cause its manlyler to say my truck can haul more than yours. haha
i just like stepping in the back of my buddies F350 and it being solid
O so should i upgrade the frame??? sounds like an excuse to get a doner 1 ton truck.....
