Carbed Intake and Exhaust Manifold Replacement Questions

This is for the standard one barrel carb. This started out with a replacement of the exhaust manifold, but the intake manifold also has a crack in it from when the truck was at a shop, and evidentally, got torqued down too tight.

I am presently shopping for parts.

Do I need a gasket for the intake manifold?
How many bolts will I need for the whole exhaust intake combination?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
Paul

Yes you will need a gasket, the intake/exhaust gaskets are in one assembly, I recommend doubling them up it will seal better. If my memory is correct there are fourteen 3/8x1.25"dia bolts holding the int/exh assembly to the head. Also there are two bolts and a stud holding the intake and exhaust manifolds to together. When you bolt the assembly to the engine, leave the two bolts and stud loose until you have the other bolts torqued properly. Once they are torqued go ahead and tighten the bolts holding the two manifolds together. Hope this helps!

Pkupman82,
Thank you for the information. I'll have to make sure that when I get the parts, that the gaskets are hopefully included. Thanks again.

You will most likely have to buy the gaskets separately when you get the manifolds. Glad I could be of service, good luck!

The gasket set that Ford sells, also includes a head gasket, which I do not need. I'll try Napa and see what they can do for me. Thanks again!

All you should need is the manifold to head gasket and the little gasket that goes between the two manifolds.
