I need some HELP! I have been working on a Ford F150 P.U. 4.9L inline six with a no start condition. The guy drove up to his yard parked it and put a for sale sign in window. A month later he went to start and it won't run. It has fuel volume and pressure, spark tp plugs but no noid light flash at injectors. I cheched all fuse links and fuses, relay to ecc. I replaced module and dist. Then in desperation the computor. Still no injector fire! HELP!!!
Welcome to FordTrucks.com! We are the Internet's Premiere Resource for all things Ford Truck and SUV related!
We are happy to have you! There is a ton of great info on this site. But, before you go snooping around there are a few things you need to do first.
1) Want to meet or talk to other members in your area? There are Provincial, State and International Chapters located near the bottom of the main forum page.
2) Before you post a thread asking a question be especially aware of where (what forum) to place it in. FTE is HUGE! Make sure you read the Read First: at the top of the forum before you go posting.
Thread moved to Inline 6 Engine forum.
3) And finally you should review the Guidelines. They will kind of give you an idea of what is and isn't allowed on this site ("The Rules").
And that is it. I hope you enjoy the FTE "Experience"! This is a great place and we have lots of fun while exchanging valuable info. If you have any questions or problems do NOT hesitate to contact me. Just click my username then send me an email.
Thanks for moving it to the right place. Sorry but I think I have it figured out now. It sure seems like I have alot of lookers but no ideas yet!! HELP
If it were carbed, I might be able to help, but injected/computerized models have a bunch more possible problems. When they're set right, they run beautifully.
I have checked the cut of switch. It is a 1990 f150 2wheel drive manual trans 4.9. I took a noid light and plugged into injector harness. I have no blinking when cranking.
I think the problem is no PIP signal to the computer. The computer uses the PIP to time the firing of the injectors. Looks like the PIP signal comes into the computer on one of the wires from the ignition module. Broken wire?
Well I finally got back to truck. I read the tread about the coolant sensor. I replugged my scanner up and it read the truck this time. The first time it wouldn't communicate. It had a coolant sensor code so I change it. I now have noid light fire to injectors but I need to reset distributer. We pulled out when changing it so now must make sure it is in right. Thanks for the help.
