ok, what if we replaced factory 1 inch or so pipe with bigger
okay, I have posted a few topics I wanted dual but i have though and well, the exhast pipe is tiny, i was thinking what if I had it taken off about at the front of the cab, maybe a connector from the small 1 inch to maybe a 2 or 2 1/2 inch pipe run it back to the back of the cab and put the muffler on and turn it to come out in front of the back tire, stright out. with a chrome tip.... what you guys think about that...
I wish I knew what kinda tips my granddad had on his van he had a van once with a cherry bomb on it with these huge like 3 inch tips staight out the side on each side of it and i was LOUD, it sounded really good, it was a 302 but it sounded nice..
Take a look at the inside diameter of your exhaust manifold outlet. This will give you a clue as to how large an exhaust pipe would be of value.
how large would be of value, what does that mean ? are you saying that if the hole on the output of the manifold isnt all that big then bigger pipe aint going to do any good?
Right, I'm just saying you have to consider the smallest restriction. Maybe you should consider EFI split manifolds to open it up, and then work you way back if your goal is freeer breathing. Otherwise you are just changing the sound.

Oh alright then, Well it it small, but I think if I can get close enough to the front there is a piece in it that looks about 2 inches . I was thinking of hooking from that and coming back.
2 inch will let it breath as well as it can thru a stock single outlet manifold.
2 1/4 will give it more tone, add a flowmaster and turn it down in front of the rearend if you want loud with out the ricer sound.
