53-55 vent window frames
I have recently ran across a 54 effie in a thorn thicket in N, Alabama. (150 bucks) Solid cab and many usable parts for my 55. The truck is a deluxe cab and the vent window frames appear to be stainless and in great shape the handles are rusted to crap. Did the deluxe models have different vent frames from the stock ones and what were they if anyone knows? Thanks

The deluxe cabs (called this in '53 and '54) and the Custom Cabs (called this beginning in 1955) had stainless trim. The standard cabs had black vent window frames. The deluxe/custom cabs also had "bright finish" division bars while the standard cabs had the black division bars. Take a look at some of our galleries and see the difference. I kept the black on my truck.
