I did a search and can't quite find my situation. My good used 98 Eddie Bauer Explorer is just nickle and diming me to death. We are equipped with LLS. I thought sometime might be fishy with it since we bought it because it seemed the pump seemed to be running quite a bit to me. it would pump real quick when we got out of the car at the store etc. Sometimes Id come out from a store and it'd be pumping real quick for no apparent reason. Anyway I recently hauled some leaf springs from a scout to idaho in the explorer. They made the LLS run all the time. After about 20 miles it would give me a Check Air ride message and I'd be bottomed out. After I'd park, turn on the vehicle again it'd pump up. Be fine for about 20 miles then bottom out again. After I took the springs out the problem persists. I climbed under it and it definately sounds like the air shocks are toast. I put my ear next to each of them and they hiss. Id rather put the simplest thing on there all around like a normal shock. I have springs in the rear but haven't spent any time up front. I've called a lot of parts stores and read a lot of posts here and can't seem to nail down any definitive answer. I bascially just wondering about switching to something simpler unless the LLS shocks are cheap and easy to replace which I doubt. heh heh
