Just want to double check something.Have a 2001 f250 with factory towing package has the 7plug and 4flat plug.Picking up a new atv trailer tomorrow.Question i should be able to plug the 4flat from trailer to truck and be good to go nothing else should need to be done. Correct?
Sometimes the dealership may forget to install the relays and fuse into the underhood fuse box. If they aren't in the glove box then you should be fine (cross your fingers).
Ok I'll look tonight when i get home.If by chance they are not there is somthing i can pick up at a auto parts store or need to go to a ford dealer for?
kozio, The flat plug will run the tail, brake and turnsignals. If it is not a box trailer followers can see the truck lights, if you need to get it home to work on it.
Any good parts house should have anything that you might need.
Your trailer towing package was installed at the factory, not at the dealership, so the likelyhood of the installation being incomplete or wrong is small. I do not think you have anything to worry about.
If you do have problems, you are picking up the new trailer at a place that sells trailers and I would be they also be able to troubleshoot any problem you might have with your wiring, they're in the trailer business, unless you are going to some place like Lowes or Home Depot.
Only the tow charge, aux/reverse, and brake controller relays and fuses are left out from the factory. They are included, just not installed. If you are using the four flat you'll be good to go. Towing trailers is the only reason why I have a box of fuses in the truck, who knows if they are wired right or not?
