Front Axel Flip??

I have a 1961 F-100 Uni-Shortbed and so far I notched the rear and flipped the axel but I wana get the front down without having to convert to an A-arm style suspension, not yet at least. I was wondering if anyone has ever flipped the front axel over and if so how low would it go and would it work?? Also open to other suggestions on lowering the front.

I've seen it done, drops it the height of the spring and axle. 5-6 inches?

Yes it can be done and the steering linkage doesn't have to be modified. There's a picture in my gallery of the mod. Really should "C" the frame but that got put on the bottom of my project list.
