J.H., when you mentioned "arm" I immediately thought sending unit. Is that what you are dealing with? Gauges can be repaired to a point but there are new units available from Macs and other outlets that not only work well but look new because they are. Once I spent a considerable amount of time trying to repair a sending unit for my '40. I ended the fiasco by replacing it and have been happy with it. Steve
Hey Steve; Tks for the response. I meant the little "arm" inside the gage itself. I took the back cover off of it and there is a tiny, hair thick, wire wrapped ar'd an arm that heats up which causes the arm to swing betw'n E & F. Also installed new sending unit and new wire straight from the sender to the gage. My guess is the wire broke again. I tried to fix it last summer, but it must not have held! Later~JH~
Check out United Speedometer in Cal. They have been around for a long time, and do very good work, especially with classic car gauges. http://speedometershop.com/
