Brake Parts For My '46 1-ton, Mac's show's 1-2ton...
Hey all, I'm about to buy some brake parts for my '46 1-tonner. I've picked out all the rebuild kits I need and they show 1 to 2 ton trucks as having the same parts. And the passenger cars and 1/2 trucks having the same parts as each other.
So, I hope I'm ordering correctly by ordering for 1-ton...
I'm hoping to get the brakes done so I can start driving her around some more. I've been using the parking brake to stop but now the cable is frayed and no longer works!
The brake parts for the 1 ton are mostly unique to the one ton trucks. The 1/2 tons used asmaller drum, and the 2 ton and up trucks used a whole different drum and all. You could even try NAPA for some of the parts, but most of the 1 ton parts are different from the 2 ton and up trucks.
Ok, cool so my 1-tonner is the "122inch" wheelbase.... correct.
I just ordered little rebuild kits for my brake cylinders, and the master. I figure I can try to save them with little money first. Then if that doesn't work then I'll have to spend some dough.
