This is a 73 F-100 with 360.The truck cranks up good when it is cold, but after it cranks it seems like it is running to rich.On the carburetor there is a round thermal lever with a wire going to it.Can I adjust this towards leaner?Do I need to check and see if I have current to it?Do these go bad or what do I need to check? It don't seem like the choke is pulling off fast enough!
It could be an electric Choke ASSIST,rather than a FULL electric choke.
Thus, it could have a vacuum leak or it may just be Tired.
You can adjust it while cold while noting how much space there is in the throttle throat when it closes.
About 1/8" -3/16" is good.
Then start the engine and watch for it coming off.

Maybe try spraying the choke plate shaft and all the linkage with a good dose of carb. cleaner. It could be hanging up a little from gum deposits. When the choke plate is open, you should be able to poke it closed and watch it snap back open without any hesitation.
