If you crank the torsion bars up so the front is about 2 inches higher then stock you will be able to fit 32 11.50's or 275 70 16's. Thats the set up on my freinds truck and they dont rub. His gas milege went down about 2-3 MPG when he put the bigger tires on and it affected the handling a lot. He actually hates driving it now with the big tires on it. FYI, if you go the body lift route and your truck has a manual transmission you may have interference problems with the shifter, also you will have to cut off the bottom of the radiator shroud and that will cause overheating problems in traffic.

I think your friend's handling problems aren't from the tires as much as the jacked up torsion bars. I had mine "lifted" this way and re-aligned, and was very unhappy with the results. The cornering was a bit better because of the stiffness, but bumps would cause the truck to dart all over the place, especially on the freeway. I ended up dropping it back down most of the way. I have about 1" of lift now on a FX4 Level II.
The wheel wells on the new Ranger's are pretty big to begin with, and 31" tires come stock on the FX4 Level II models, so 32" tires might fit without any lift at all. Without re-gearing, I can guarantee you won't like the drivability of 33" tires...
i've got a 2000 with a 3" body-lift. before i lifted it i had 33" bfg's on it. they rubbed only when i made a sharp left turn and only on the drivers side. as far as the lift is concerned, it came with eveything you need to make it all correct. i've had this set-up now for three years with no problems and it looks so cool . there is a ride difference especially with knobier tires but that goes with the territory. if your willing to give up a couple mpg's for a bad_ _s ranger, do it, you won't regret it, i don't! do not touch the torsion bars, you don't need to. there set a certain way for a reason! i will have a pic soon so you can see for your-self, i love it. i now have 33" kelly awr's, little less aggressive than the bfg's even though i got 60,000 mi out of them!

My freinds truck rode like crap from the factory compared to my xlt 2wd which rides like a car. His truck rode noticably worse when i cranked the torsion bars up. When he put on the big tires it made it extremely bad. It floats on the freeway really bad. When it still had the stock 235 70 16 tires on it it just rode really still but didn't float around. He also said his turning radius is even worse with the bigger tires and he has a hard time getting it in and out of the grage and has to go forward and reverse about 3 times before he's clear.
About the radiator shroud. Thats only an issue with a body lift. If you do a suspension lift you wont need to address that. What happens is that you move the body up 3 inch but the frame and engine stay in the same place. The fan is then 3 inches lower then stock and it hits the fan shroud so that the bottom half has to be cut off.
FYI, if you bought your truck for it's economy stick with stock. Because after you lift it and put the bigger tires on, the f-150 with a 5.4 will be getting better gas milege then you will. My freinds 2wd edge with a 3.0 auto only got 15.5 MPG last fill up and that was about 75% highway. And yes i did compensate for the speedo being slow.
its been a while since we did the lift and don't quite remember what we did with the radiator. right now it seems to be in the stock location, i'm sure we did something to it but i can assure you the kit comes with everything you will need for your application. just make sure you have someone with you to help and give your-self about eight hours to do it! i'm pretty sure bigger tires will cause the excessive fuel consumption more than anything but there are some ways to get that back along with gained hp. i also believe adjustments made to the torsion bars will be the major reason for a rougher ride. i never messed with them and i honestly have never felt a difference in the ride after my lift. there is however a big difference between stock 2wd and any 4wd lifted or not. bigger is better. get up here with us lifted guys, its a great view!
yea, unfortunately it will. i waited till 36,000 came around so i'd wait. they're even funny about o/s tires. any kind of mod should take place after warranty is up unless its very minimal.
hey, those new edges are pretty sweet. what color? the new front-ends and the rims are cool looking. theres no hurry modifying an already good looking truck anyhow. just relax and do little things like window tint, tonneau cover, bug-deflector, window vent shades, etc.
my truck is black with black rock crawler rims.it is cooling off here in georgia so i will wait to get the tint until spring.the tonneau might come for christmas.I guess I will wait until the warranty expires to do anything else.otherwise that would be kind of stupid to void my warranty...
