1997 Expedition AWD Questions
Greetings
I was test driving this Expedition today for a youth organization I volunteer for and noticed the following ... when shifting from 2H to AWD, everything seemed fine. Shifting from AWD to 4H appeared fine with no noise in the shift but once engaged there was a steady vibration coming through the steering wheel. After shifting back into AWD, I was turning around in a laneway and noticed that the front was binding as if it was still in 4H. After stopping and backing up, it was ok. Is this normal? What would cause the steady vibration when in 4H? I never noticed any leaks anywhere and the truck is in good overall shape. Also, does this year normally have a fairly high assist on the power steering? It did not shake but appeared loose in the steering - it is a '97 with 150K kms. Thanks, Peter
