Well my brand new (Bought in March or April of this year) 1970 Mustang gas tank is leaking at the seam where the top and bottom of the tank meet. It had about 20 gallons of gas in it and I have drained out about 10 gallons so far (Got to save the gold ). My question what is a good sealer, that isn't outrageously expensive, to fix this problem.
have you tried talking to a local radiator shop? Maybe they can resolder the seam.
I think eastwood sells a gas tank sealer that you pour in the tank but I have no experience with it.
Does the manuifacturer or the vendor that you got the tank form have a warranty?
bobby, I haven’t talked to a radiator shop yet. I've heard that those tank sealers work good but wouldn't know what brand to buy. I got the thank off ebay and haven’t e-mailed the vendor yet but I am.
fking1, If you don't mind me asking what did you pay to get your tank fixed at the radiator shop?

Will be confusing, as I had the tank cleaned out with acid, leak welded, filler neck soldered and the tank coated with a sealer. Total cost was $180. The sealer plugged up the gas pickup tube and the shop replaced it at no cost. Watch out for this prob as I had to take the tank off after re-installing it. Yuk!

Alternative is the POR 15 gas tank (3 part) treatment. Did it to my panel truck in about 1997 and hasn't leaked a drop since. Had some small holes in the upper parts of the tank. About $50 for the kit in 1997.
