Remanufactured Transmission
My trusty stead is starting to slip from time to time with some converter chatter. It's time to do something before I'm stranded on the side of the road. I've rebuilt a few C-6 trannys in the past but this is an E4OD out of a 1994 and heard you need specialty tools for the surgery. I feel if you have to replace the converter you might as well rebuild the tranny. I'm thinking of buying a remanufactured tranny so I can rip the old one out and just throw the other one in. I need to save some money so i can afford the go-go juice at it's current price. Anyone know of any good places to buy a good tranny for a good price. Anyone have some good/bad experiences that they would like to share, thanks.

ANY reman'd E4OD will have the upgrades. The pre-1993 components are no longer available and haven't been since the changes were made back in '93. Ford (and their aftermarket suppliers) simply quit producing them in favor of the "better" components. Unless Phoenix Reman's. is re-using old parts and keeping the replacements from the reman kits (which wouldn't really benefit them anyway) their E4OD reman' will have the upgrades.
