18" Grip Tire wowes

I have a 2004 FX4 w/18" stock rims & BFG tires. I am looking for some MT's or Mud grips that aren't too agressive. I can't seem to find anything under $1,000.00.! What's up with that! I looked at Cooper Discoverer STT in size LT275/65R18 for $1,000.00 installed & some MAXXIS Buckshots for $900 installed. Can you tell me my options for a deecent grip. I need at least some good MT's or not too agressive Mud Grips. What sizes can I go up to with stock rims & not have any tire rub?

have you checked out tirerack.com? you can do a side by side
comparison on tires and get a price as well. it never hurts to be an informed shopper.

Don't know anything about the site, but you might look at tiresavings.com. They show some BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A's in that size for $137 each. Of course that doesn't include shipping or getting them installed.

Take a look at my tires in the gallery, 285/70/17 BFG MT I picked them up for 184 per tire. The 18" rim tire should not be much more. Tire rack is the best place to go , so as far as grip I have had excellent results with this tire.

If anybody finds some in 18" with good grip, chime in. Tire rack had nothing that I'd take for mud or that were better than what came on the truck.
