Last night, I decided to call this girl I like a freaking idiot in front of my entire youth group.
I felt real bad about last night, but I figured she was over it by now. Now I realize that she is truly mad at me and I feel horrible for embarassing her like that.
I know I don't have have half a chance with her, but I feel like I ruined a great friendship right before she's going off to college.
I tired apologizing to her, but she won't forgive me.
Dude, you're young, dumb and full...well there will be plenty of girls for you. You can't sweat it with all of them or fall in love with every girl that looks your way. You'll find a girl when you ain't lookin for one. Chill and don't worry about it, seriously. It'll happen when it happens.

Yeah, thanks. That's pretty much what I needed to hear.
I think that a man who doesn't give in to charms is solid.
One who appreciates them and still continues to be a person is human.
One who ignores them entirely is not hiring for the showroom.
But one who knows all of it and appreciates the very best of everything will guard well what they already have....
H#ll I'm pretty shy around them (and hence that's another form of stupidity around them). But you gotta remember that as much as that sucks, there's other fish in the sea. And besides, my motto has always been "I'm young. Do dumb **** while I can still get away with it" .
You might try asking her if you can take her out somewhere (like dinner, a movie... just something nice) to make up for it. Females especially don't like being called dumb. It takes more effort for a girl to assert her intelligence, especially around men, since you can't see intelligence from the outside and we all know men are visual creatures. I'll admit, I might readily own up to my own confusion or "stupidity" in a particular situation, but it is a bit threatening when someone else agrees, or says so first. And I get a bit offended, even if I know it's meant as a joke, when a guy, especially one I'm close to, points out a blunder. In public, it makes it that much worse. Your only hope is to tell her how much of an idiot you were, you're terribly sorry, and that you wouldn't have said it if you knew how much it was going to hurt her. Girls don't just "get over" being insulted... not easily anyway. It might still take a bit of time for her to trust you again because if she feels that you honestly think she's a freaking idiot she might have already come to the conclusion that you have always felt this way. So if she lets you treat her to dinner and you have the chance to PROFUSELY apologize, shoot her an email when you get back and let her know that you really value her opinions and you're glad you had the chance to restore the integrity your character.
Even if you're not romantically interested, or if you think there will be no chance for that EVER with her, don't burn the bridge. Girls talk and if you get a reputation for being a jerk from this incident (hey, I've seen people get labels for much less) it'll take a long time to live that down. You said other people witnessed it... the fact that you didn't apologize right away in front of everyone, and anything you say further to dismiss it as her "being a female" will just add to the negativity. Try to keep a "nice guy" status, make it right, and if you've done everything right don't let yourself get too down on it. There are other fish in the sea, but it might be harder to catch one if they won't even come near the boat.
Dude, us guys are always frustrated about women, and the first
man to ever figure one out will be Rich. So live and learn and try
not to make the same mistake twice and some things once.
Some of the most gorgeous, wonderful women I have ever met, hang around with, or live with, or are married to some of the biggest A-holes I have ever met.
Women don't necessarily like or want to be treated well I guess.
PS.. all I know about women after almost 18 years of marriage would fit in here ----> o
