gear ratios

I have a 1996 f 150 with 4.9,e4od and 3.55 gears, that pulls a 3500 lb camper. It does alright on flat roads but struggles a bit on hills. My guestion is will going to 3.73 or 4.10 gears make a significant difference, will the rpms be to high at highway speeds?

ive got 4.10's with a c6 which has no overdrive and my rpms arent so bad, i think theyre around 2800, so with an E40D your rpms should be alright.

Edit my engine is a 460 BTW
