I usually post in the 48-60 fourm, as I've got a '56 Panel, but I thought you guys might like this.
Dining at the local greasy spoon while bike night was in progress, I saw a really unusual bike. He rode right by where we were sitting and parked across from our table. A very well done, home made custom with a '37 Ford flat head V8 engine. The bike looked the vintage and the engine looked right at home and very distinctive. Out of the 2000 bikes there this was, by far, the coolest one!
This is the first night I didn't bring the camera ..... damn!
That would have been nice to see. Too bad you forgot the camera. A year ago at the local annual rod and custom show, a beautifully redone Ford model 600 tractor showed up with a 46 Ford flathead motor. It was so neat and unusual, it was the only tractor ever allowed into the show. The event is being held again this weekend, and hope he shows again.
I love those flatheads. They have to be the most awesome sounding motors ever built.
BTW - Dirty Boy, welcome to the '47 & older forum and please stop in again. There are many, many things that can be shared and compared with your newer model trucks.
Also, next time, please remember your camera and post a pict. here. Would love to see a bike that's actually on the road that has the flathead in it.. What a way to get the blood boiling.........................
