I KNOW this has been discussed but there are many new members and many who have modded their trucks since this was last discussed.
The Story:
I have a 2wd screw that I am going to put lift blocks from a 4x4 on as well as the Autosping 2.5" leveling kit. I would like to put 33" tires on the stock rims because I do not want to buy new rims.
The Questions:
Is anyone running 33" tires on their trucks?
If, so how are they wearing? Any other complaints?
Are there any 33" tires available yet that will fit the 7.5" rim? Our has anyone heard rumors about who will be coming out with them?
Some guys are running Hummer tires on there stock rims, which are 35's. You won't have any problem with 33's - I am getting some Mickey Thompson Baja MTX radial's this week. I am sure that BFG AT will fit also.
I'm running 33x12.50s on 8" rims. Stock rims being a 1/2" less would not be a problem. I've seen 14.50 on 8" rims before, I wouldn't do that but it can be done. I think you'll be fine with that setup.
17's...... 18's....... there all the same.
shouldn't matter. you should still be all right
If you are still worried about the width look into a 265/70r18 which is basically a 33x10.50x18. To me this tire looks odd being this tall and so narrow but hey, it not up to me!
