carberator recomendation

I have a 73 SWB F100 with a 460, C6, and 3.00 gears. The question is...would a motor craft or holley work better for it? I don't plan much hot rodding or off road, just a good dependable carberator that will get descent fuel mileage with out constant adjustment like the piece of junk Edelbrock that is currently on it.

doc, i have been down the same road with both a holley and a edelbrock. i ended up finding a nice rebuildable one on ebay for 25.00 and rebuilt it for 12.00 and it works great . i have not needed to adjust it at all it still pulls a nice steady vacuum of 20 at idle. i also have 3.00 gears in mind which help with mpgs.

Gas hog, the one you rebuilt, was it a motor craft?
Any one have an opinion on a demon?
What would be a good size carberator for my set up?

600CFM is plenty for what you are wanting to do.
