Radio display quit - new radio no help
Have a 98 Explorer Limited and the radio LED display doesn't work. Everything this else works great. So, I bought a replacement radio on Ebay, the exact Ford radio, replaced it, and the display still doesn't work!
What else could it be? Wiring?

Have you taken a look at the "read first tech info' at the top of the Explorer & Ranger forums. Might find something on this there.
BTW the wiring diagram shows a wire from the instrument panel lights to the radio which comes on with the headlights. Is this what you mean??

I'll give this a try. Strange to believe that even the new radio has the same problem. BTW, my Explorer is in Tucson, AZ and it's 108 here today. Guess that qualifies as hot! According to the posts, all I need to do is go to a colder climate where it's always 30 or below!
