Rear door lock--quick note on my experience
Soon after getting the door apart, I noticed that the original actuator wasn't broken--it correctly was throwing the rod. What happened was that it is secured to the door via a pretty decent sized rivet. And that rivet had broken off.
You can check yours to see where I'm talking about. Even though the lock plunger button is on the front of the door, the actuator is mounted to the back of the door, right where it curves to accomodate the rear wheel well. Open your door and you will see a round metal rivet there. That's what's holding the actuator motor steady to the door itself.
Not having a rivet close to that size, I drilled out a small pilot hole in the old stub of the actuator bracket, and was able to put a large round-head screw into it to hold it firm. It may not last, but right now it's working great.
Luckily I hadn't opened the bag with the new actuator in it, and I returned it this morning, paying a 10% restocking fee to the "stealership".
Just wanted to put this up here in case anyone ever has a similar problem.
