Trnny leak quick fix

I'm driving my grandma's 72' f-100 while I put a new clutch in(driving like Tony Stuart who knows why the clutch went ) and sell my 93'.

My grandfather put a rebuilt 351W with a used C4 in, if I'm not mistaken, after a while the tranny developed a leak from inside the bellhousing, the input shaft seal if i remember right.
He did something to stop the leak, but now that it has sat for a couple years it's back.
I'm currently looking for a new tranny or possibly rebuild an AOD I've got lying around.

What I want to know is what can I do to slow the loss of fluid from this seal until I can get the tranny replaced?

you could try a stop leak but its problably gonna need to be changed. i had the same problem with my c6. it sat for 11 years. i finally replaced it. if its just seeping i wouldnt worry about it, just check the fluid. ive heard adding a little brake fluid will swell the seals but i cant safely reccomend it.

The old used car lot's used half a pint of dot 3 brake fluid no more than that !!! It will swell up the oil seals .

Talked to my mechanic today, he's got an AOD out of an 85' thunderbird that he can get for free, so i'll go that route, might even get it done as soon as Sat.

Thanks for the advice.
