Weird Noise Coming from interior rear
I have a 2002 ford explorer xlt, and yesterday i got in it and i heard a clicking noise from the rear driver side area. I opened up the rear lift gate, and its coming from the area around the switch that locks the lift. But, i was messing with the 3rd row air controls, and it has something to do with that. While turned off, it is hardly audible, but when you turn it on, the "clicking noise" gets louder! Anybody have any suggestions?
its the blend door almost certainly. thye door stick/jams or gets broken which will cause the noise you are hearing. Just make sure its coming from behind the interior quaretr panel cover on the drivers side of the vehicle. that is where the blend door assembly is located
The blend door is located inside a box. The box is sold as a complete unit (about $275 I think) so you have to replace the entire box. The only downside is that you have to evacuate the refrigerant from the A/C system to replace the box.
