Alternator noisy on 98 xplorer

Hi,

I have a 98 Xplorer and the alternator seems to be close to the end of its life. I took it to a garage and the guy told me that I would have to replace it pretty soon. Problem is that in France this part would cost me about 500 $, so I'm looking for one to be shipped to my place in France.
My questions are:

What website would U recommend ?
Which model to choose? 130A? 95 A?
What means 3G side mount?

also it seems to me that it's something pretty easy to do to change it by myself. any advice would be welcome...

Go with the most you can afford. I use a 1 wire alternator with 225 amp capacity. Never a low charge on the battery.

www.fordpartsnetwork.com get the 130A it is the same price as the 95
