Driveshaft Centre Bearing Help.....
I got a 96 f150 extended cab short bed 302 auto e40d 2 wheel dr..... I am in need of a driveshaft support bearing (carrier Bearing) I tried all the local parts store with no luck. I then called the dealer and they say that I cant buy that seperate but need to buy the whole drive shaft for 596.00 plus tax. Is this correct or is my dealer on dope I really hope they are wrong... My ford manual shows the bearing on page 05-01-2 .. Any help greatly appreciated I cant afford a whole driveshaft , has anyone else had this problem or ever replaced the centre bearing or found one somewhere???? If so where and a part number would be fantastic......

Glad you found one! I was gonna say try a driveline shop. They had one for mine, Timken brand, for about $25 when the dealer wanted $75 for theirs. Mine was a press-on/press-off deal, so I had the driveline shop change it out for me.
