confused about my 97 ranger 2.3 liter
ok so i got a 97 ranger 2.3liter..... i ahve had it up to a max of like 101 maybe tonight im driving with my friend and my other friends are next to me in a mini van we are going like 60 like normal then i turn od off and punch it. now all of a sudden it will hit 95 and power down.. itt sounds ready to shift then just powers down to like 85-90...im confused because ive had it over 95 plenty of times but now it wont do it ?? whats wrong

I've never had my Ranger to 95, and not sure if I'd want to nor am I sure that it would do 95.
I've had it to 80 and that was an event in itself. Besides, there's no place around here without excessive traffic, that would allow it and I wouldn't want to pay the ticket if I got caught.
