I'm getting a CB with a PA setting and I want to hook up a PA speaker or 2 to it. the problem is the CB outputs at 4 watts and the pa horns can handle about 25 watts a piece. How feasable would it be to hook up a small amp between the CB and speakers? and would there need to be anything special done to hook it up, or would I do it the same way that I would a set of car speakers?

I've never heard of this being done, but it should work just the same. I think the hardest problem is trying to find a amp that only puts out under 25 watts.

 

radioshack has cheap ones that dont even need 12v lol. but i dont realy think that u need an amp

 

It's simple. Get an amp with speaker-level-input or if your amp doesnt have that, get a Line output converter. Use the speaker leds coming from CB and plug them to amp or to line converter. Then just connect PA speaker to amp.
