Why the difference in flywheels/clutch disk kits for the 5.8 over 8 years?

I was cross referenceing part numbers and noticed something.

I plan to use the mazda behind my 4.9 with the 5.8 for a while, not interested in a ZF right now.

For 95 the clutch kit is the same for the 4.9 as it is the 5.8...no big deal.

the clutch kit for the 87 5.8 (which is the year engine I plan to use) is a different part number and $30 cheaper?

The flywheels are also listed as different part numbers and cheaper for the 87 5.8 vs the 95 5.8.

What is so different that the price would vary that much? Which flywheel/clutch kit should I use, the one for a 95 5.8 the same year as the (4.9) tranny or 87 the same year as the 5.8 and why? FWIW they were both (95 4.9 and 5.8) listed as 11" clutch kits and pretty sure the 87 was as well, same pitch/hub/spline.

If I were to use the 95 clutch kit, which is the same for the 4.9 or 5.8, it should bolt to the 87 5.8 flywheel, correct? Is the pilot bearing different for the two years?

Thanks

Hmm, I think my problem is the fact the m5od wasn't used until 88, I've been referencing 87...

....well the 88 had one match as far as a clutch kit for the 4.9 that matched the 95 5.8 but not the 4.9???

Looks like I will get an 11" clutch kit for the 95 4.9 m50d and a flywheel for the 95 5.8, and hope there isn't an issue with the 87 5.8 starter.....oddly enough, even though the numbers don't match the clutch disk measurements do...
