Problems with E4OD

Guys, I have a 1994 Ford F-350 7.3 4X4. I will give you the whole story with this tranny. I was driving down the highway at about 70 or 75 when I lost all the fluid from the tranny. I droped the tranny and took it to San Antonio to have it rebuilt. I got it back and it has never been right. I drove it for about a week just a couple of miles a days, It has been parked for over a year now. When I start it up a terriable noise comes from the tranny area. Until it engages in gear and the noise goes away. But if it is in park or neut. or the gear does not engage to noise is there. I have been reading all the posting about codes it seems that this may be my problem, but I did have the battery disconnect for over 2 weeks when I had it rebuilt. Also when I start it up I have to rev the engine up to get the tranny to engage into gear. When this happen I am getting transmission fluid leaking out. Any help would be helpful.

Thanks

A few ?s. Where is the fluid leaking from (bellhousing, tailshaft, ect.)? When you installed the trans back into the truck are sure that you got the torque converter all the way in the trans? It sounds like the tc slipped out a notch or two, that is the reason for the noise. Is the fluid level low or over full?

I am almost possitive that I got the tc all the way back in but is there a easy way to check this or does the trany have to be droped? Also the fluid is coming out of the bell housing on the bottom from the little plate. Any help is greatful I have this week off and I am trying to get this back on the road for my son that is turning 16 on Sat.

one thought might be is; front pump seal wrong one or improperly installed. some shops try to get away with using the C6 seal--major leakage! about the noise- i would also say the T/C was not installed all the way as DBHR stated. there is only one way to diagnose these problems and that is to drop the tranny.

I was told that the noise that it is making could be coming from the flex plate. Because when you give it any acceleration at all the noise stops. I drove it down the road today it shifts very good and runs great as long as I have my foot on the accelerator as soon as I lift off the accelerator the noise is back.
