hey guys, i've got another weird one. i bought my 1977 ford f-150 4x4 with a 460 automatic, 9 inch lift and 40 inch ground hawg tires a few months ago and the guy had put new warn hubs in it from what i understand. well, a few weeks ago i went out in the mud and pulled my brothers truck out of the mud, and i needed fourwheel drive so i locked my hubs and the fourwheel drive worked fine. now, just about a week ago, i was putting around the forest and i found a puddle and decided to go through it right before i got onto the highway, well there was ice on top and when my rear tires were on it, the ice broke and my truck dropped into the puddle. it was so deep my axle was under water. well of course, i tried as much as i could to get it out in two wheel drive but no matter how big your tires are, its VERY hard to get traction on ice. well so i got out and locked the hubs my transfer case is a full time 4wd transfer case. i got in and my buddies said my front driveshaft was spinning but my wheels werent. my hubs werent engaging. they worked a few weeks before that when i pulled my brother out and that was the last time i used them. could that guy have possible put them in wrong? are they broken? can i fix them or should i buy new ones? dont know much about hubs. thanks guys, tony

 

Buy a manual, they work in a very easy way but yet are complicated if you have never taken them apart b4.
