Park Brake Assembly on a '97
My company has about 12 Super Dutys. 3 of which are 97's, and the rest that are 99 or newer. One of the 97's has a leaking parkbrake assembly. This is one of the older ones that had a big drum assembly sitting right after the transmission before the driveshaft rather than utilizing the rear brakes for a park brake. Anyway, I take it in to get fixed because the park brake won't hold the truck and our truck got nicked for it by the transportation police for this fact. The part costs $2600, and with install the total bill will run in around $3100 in canadian funds. Has anybody had a similar problem to this and know whether anybody will service the unit rather than replaceing the whole thing? Any help would be appreciated.
