Change in fuel milage

Hi everyone, just a quick question. I have a 97 f350 when I got the truck i would avg. about 20mpg on the highway and about 17 around town. Now I get about 16 no matter highway or town. Any ideas. I've changed the fuel filter and that didn't help I also use a fuel additive. Thanks...Mike

How about the air filter or the oil? Changed those lately? You could possibly be running on winter blend fuel. Although I'm not sure if you get the down in Kentucky.

The one thing I haven't done yet is change the airfilter, didn't even think of too tell the truth. Thanks, I'll give it a try. mike

I would expect that winter fuel is the biggest contributor to the decline in mpg. My mileage drops about 2mpg during the winter, mostly because of the fuel, but also because of slightly increased idle time for warmup.
