I put this here since it is a model specific question. I have to run a 2ga. cable for my amps into a an '03 CC. Where is the best or easiest place to do this.
Are you trying to get them from the battery (under the hood) to inside the cab? Then if they'll fit, the easiest place should be the hole in the firewall where the clutch rod would go if you had a manual transmission. (If you *do* have a manual transmission, this won't work!) There is a cutout you can remove from the inside foam pad, and a plastic blocking plug in the firewall.
If you are really running that big a wire from the battery, you should have a fuse under the hood, in case the wire ever chafes on the firewall or something. Otherwise you could get quite the welding action and fire...
Yes the JL kit I am using has a 200amp fuse under the hood I will have to look for the clucth plug when I get the truck back, I dropped it off this morning for balljoints at the dealership.
BTW I would have thought the 6-speeds would have had a hydraulic clutch?

They do - the hole I'm speaking of is up to the left of the brake pedal. It's where the rod goes through the firewall from the clutch pedal to the clutch master cylinder under the hood.
You can also use a large grommet that is under the glove box to the right. This will save you some cable run and get you closer to the battery. I ran mine this way and then my rca's down the drivers side.
yea, same here. there is a really easy to get to hole under the glove box ... if you take a few screws out of the pass. side wheel well liner its right there.
I've seen several guys run construction conduit to the rear of the truck. Using a hole that they drilled they passed the wire into the cab. The conduit protects the wire and provides a way to route the wire.
If it's more convenient for you to stay on the driver's side, I have mine run through the spot where the clutch rod would go. Right now, that hole has 0/1 gauge wire, an XM antenna wire and the wires for all my guages going through a single grommet. It's quite a large hole. If you have trouble locating the cutout, let me know and I'll take a picture.
I got kind of creative with the antenna mount. I didn't get good enough reception by just putting it on the dash, so I had to put it outside somewhere. I've got a bug guard (Lund, I think), you know, the smoke colored plastic ones that stand off the hood about an inch and a half. I just put the magnetic antenna under the bug deflector and ran the wire between the inner and outer hood sandwich to the back edge of the hood, where the wire for the hood light runs through a loom. Ran the XM wire through that same loom.
In my opinion, much better than running the wire under the windshield lip molding or whatever you call it.
I ran my XM antenna around the back of the cab, up through the back passenger corner, across the back in the headliner and out the 3rd brakelight onto the roof. Talk about no obstruction!! It's very easy to do and looks super clean. Just be sure to put a bit of silicon between the wire and brake light to seal out the moisture.
