Jerking Ranger 2003 4.0L 5-Speed 4x4
Driving this morning showed very occasional jerking while cruising at highway
speed. As if something were slipping, then re-engaging. Did not seem to be a power interruption, more like a gear slipping or something.

How many miles?
Any chance your clutch sould be slipping?
Also the slave cylinders are prone to failure although that would keep it engaged and not slipping off the clutch pack.
Check your MAF and see if it is dirty, then clean it anyway since you have it out.
Disconnet the battery for over 20 minutes to reset your computer and see if this helps.
