<!--StartFragment --> I removed the field wire and jumped it with the bat. term. and it put out 17VDC + then when I connected the field it went back to 12VDC at Idle. If you pick the idle up to 1000 + it starts to charge at 14.+VDC (but never 15) so it's charging but not at idle. If you turn the lights on it drops to 11VDC. The regulator is wired Red Green 2yellow, a space and nothing. It has a capis. on the yellow wire. It is hot (yellow)with key off , green is hot (12v) key on and red (field) is hot key on but varies in voltage from 7VDC+. The choke wire is hot with same volts as red wire the other wire on the choke is ground. There is a wire that is inside the choke harness that has no insulation on it and a wire lug at the end but is not connected to anything.
If you leave the lights on after a short time they start to flash as if there is a flasher connected to them but you don't hear the clicking of a relay or flasher. None of the relays get hot unless there is a relay somewhere that I can't find. The fuse box has constant bat voltage and does not flicker with the lights. All the lights work off the same connection ..... when you pull out the light **** to the first click nothing happens , Then when you click the second position all the lights come on. Nothing dims with the switch control like it should. I can't seem to find anything on line in the way of a wiring diag. So it is taking a long time to trace out the wires. Any thing you think I should look for will be appreciated.
