Crew cab, lariet, 11K miles, heated seats, backup sensors, adj pedals, elec seats (driver & pass). Tires are awfully worn for 11K miles (goodyear wranglers) this concerns me. Has had a plow on it ( I didn't think you could put one on a crew cab), but overall the truck looks to be in Ex cond. No issues found on carfax although truck came into the U.S. from Canada, NB. Dealer wants $37k+, he just bought the truck at auction. I am thinking $34 since I am loosing out on 1 full year of warranttee. Any thoughts would be apriciated.
Thanks
I just bought a new 05 SD PSD 4x4 Lariet F 250 SC everything except pedals and sunroof. I paid $48 Cdn (= $38300 US) includes shipping plus tax. Ford just sent me a further $500 rebate because I inquired on their website.Net $37850US The deals on 04s were no better than $3000 Cdn off 05s. The Cdn dollar is really strong now almost $.82 US . The market here used to send all low mileage newer cars stateside but not much any longer. That used Cdn 04 is priced way too high.
I would be concerned with the condition of the tires, take a good look at the brake pedal if it is worn, a good indicator that this was a heavily used plow truck. Who knows how much abuse it took. For a little extra scratch you could buy an 05 from Jeff.
I agree...bad deal. Fly to Dallas...by a new '04 $ 11,500 or more off list. Have your local Ford dealer Run an OASIS report from the VIN before buying a used 6.0. Won't matter if it is from Canada or not.
I'd fly to Dallas to save $11K in a second! I did run a carfax report on the truck, it showed only 1 owner, the service interval but did not say if it was registered by a person, business or other. I have been trying to find a way to search dealers out of Maine on the internet but so far have had no luck. There are no '04 CC 4x4 Lariets left in Maine. I know there are 3 in Mass that a local dealer found running a search but they want me to buy through them (they are a bsuiness after all) but they won't budge on the price.
Lots of homework, willingness to walk away from what your salesman insists is the best deal ever (loosing $$$, etc), and competitive multi-dealer market always helps.
Research the true invoice price of the truck, i.e., what the dealer has in it and what he's making (use Forddirect, Yahoo Auto, Edmunds, Carsdirect, etc). Decide what you will pay before you go to the dealer. Walk in dealer and ignore everything else and negotiate a fair price. Walk to the next dealer if you don't get your price. (Or just stand up and start to walk...that usually results in an instant lower quote. ) Once you get a fair quote, get dealer to apply any/all rebates, incentives, etc. You usually get the best deals on year-end leftovers.

When I was truck shopping this is exactly what I did. I'd go into a lot and when the salesman came up, I would tell them I wanted a Fullsize that could pull a two horse trailer, manual transmission, and I didn't want to pay over a certain amount per month. 3rd Dealer (and the most reputable in our little corner of the world) had exactly the truck that fit my requirements.
