I'm sure there are 100's of threads regarding this topic, but I can't seem to get the hits I'm looking for in search. I just a bought a new 2004 Super Duty CC, SB, 6.0L Diesel with 3.73 gears. I will be pulling a 26' toyhauler (approx. 8500lb. loaded). I plan on lifting the truck 4" with 35's. Will I have problem towing? I love the mileage I'm getting (17mpg) around town, but will this new setup cause a problem? Any other experiences out there with this type of setup? I haven't even towed with it yet stock. Thanks.
Well yes and no. The 410's are nice with the bigger tires. The lift makes the truck wander more, you need a drop hitch on your truck with leveling bars on any trailer. I pulled 28' 12,000lb with a 4 inch/35's 3:73 ratio single cab. The CC makes it more stable with the length.
Personally, I have CC dual wheel 4:10 ratio I pull an 18,000lb 38' trailer (loaded) with and like it much better.
I am sure you might recieve a few more answers.

Check into the Fabtech 3.5 drop kit for the front if you want to run 35's instead of lifting the whole truck. The truck in my gallery has this on my 03..
Thanks for the reply. I realize the need for the hitch gear. I use to pull this trailer with a 96 F350 CC, LB, 460. I know this truck will pull this trailer no problem stock, but I'm not sure if I will strugle once I add the 35's.
Have you had any problems with the drop kit? Did you have to do anything to the back? Do you know if I would get the same result on a F250? I've heard of different people having issues with the older drop kits over time (noises in the front end). Very nice truck BTW! Thanks for the reply.
Now you will realize the benefit of the 6.0 plus add a tuner ...and woohoo. The 3:73 will put more strain on the trans than would 4:10's. I used to switch back to my stock tires on a long run....like 1,000 miles....but just a couple of weekend warrior trips I never did.

No problems, once the kit is on you may have to add one leaf to the rear but you should not have to add blocks. For the first 100 miles check the bolts, then after that, just keep an eye on things with regular service. I have not had any issues with the Fabtech kit.
Thanks on the compliment.....
