87 ranger xlt, 2.3L severe power loss and hesitation after about 15 minutes
i have an 87 ranger xlt with the 2.3 efi engine and sometimes it wont start and you smell gas (only happened 4 times), then when it does start and i drive it for a couple minutes when i hit the gas to keep the speed im going i get a hesitation like drag on the engine and severe power loss, just today after i replaced the tpi sensor(junkyard sensor) it does the same thing but now sometimes it will pull down and it will start poping through the intake, but if i push the gas all the way down it will pick up and go.i have replaced almost every thing, please help me. i did the tune up and replaced the fuel filter and put in on the scanner and it said the accuaitors off, snap throttle: i did and it said no responce, and it also said i have a bad cluch sensor, so what do you think? are the accuaitors the throttle position sensor? another computer said that i have no signal going into the throttle position sensor. and sometimes when i start it will go up on a real high idle.??????

What were the code numbers, I'll pull out the pinpoint test from my Ford manual, they really help determine the exact cause.
