2001 Expy EB - Rear Seat Ent. Sys. FUSE?

I have a 2001 EB Expy. I'm sure the fuse is blown to the Rear Seat Entertainment System (factory). Everything else works fine.

I have checked every fuse in the fuse box. I took the VHS Player out and found nothing in the unit or in the wiring. I took the display unit out of the roof. No fuse there...

Called the dealership and they would not tell me where it is. I have tried to search the internet 4000 different ways...

Please HELP!

A Ford dealer can't help you. They directed me to a local audio/video place who supposedly handles their VCR/DVD installation, repair and warranty work. The A/V guy says the VCR fuse can be just about ANYWHERE between the VCR console between the seats and the overhead LCD screen in the headliner. Mine was in the wiring about a foot-and-a-half before the VCR in the headliner. My girlfriend's son had dropped the VCR remote into the VCR, frying a circuit board and popping that fuse. A new fuse and a swapped-out VCR cured my problem. What happened to yours?

I GOT IT FIXED!! The fuse is 100% not in the fuse box, but it is a "traditional" auto fuse, 4 amp. The console between the seats (in front of where the VCR / CD compartment is) has to be taken off. Its not bad. One screw that is at the edge of the VCR/CD compartment and you pull square rubber pad up that is just in front of the change holder - second screw is under that. Pry the console lose from the back first and rotate the back up and the front should pop lose. The front of the console you have just removed has the rear air controls and when you remove it, becareful because the wires are still connected to it. When you set the console aside, look into the space below where the console sits, on the end closest to the firewall. I found a small white square of plastic that pulled free of its mounting. There was a 4 amp (pink color code fuse) in that piece of white plastic. I replaced it and the rear entertainment system came back to life.

By the way - you were right about Ford. I called 3 times and never could get anyone to answer the question or even call me back. I think they were as confused as I was.

Thanks very much for your reply and I hope this helps somebody else fix their problem. The fuse blew when my daughter dropped a silver earring into the VCR. It could have landed anywhere, but it landed on that tiny square of circuit that blew the fuse...
