got a 302 for my falcon!
today i took a small trip down to parker to pick up a 302 to drop into my 61 falcon it was a nice trip down there in my ranger with the radio up and the windows down. the engine is a 68 302 (out of a stang) an origonal 4v with the smaller combustion chambers. it has weiand intake, holley 600, carter fuel pump, mallory breakerless ignition & coil, and some really cool retro aluminum valve covers- all for 150 bucks! im so excited to get it home and onto my run-in stand to see how it runs (he said it smoked a little) i also got (but not from the same guy, who has a really sweet falcon) a t5 tranny and an 8 inch shortened rear with 4.56 gears and posi. this bird is gonna fly!

If you're really luck, the smoke is from the lousy stock valve seals that crack the first time it warms up. A couple of hundred bucks into the heads & your can put in good valve springs and good seals rev that baby to 6 grand and never worry about it.

I always wanted to do that to my 61 but stupid priorities keep getting in the way. I have an 86 Capri for a donor motor. If you don't already know you can find some good info from Northwest Classic Falcons. They have everything you need to do the swap. Post some wheelie pictures when it's done!

in the next few days i should be able to tell you if it was rings or the valve seals(please let it be the valve seals!) if the front tires get air i will never stop grinning... i still need to go get my granada brakes and suspention.
this guy also had a 67 or 68 couger, had a 428 cj in it, and it had carrol shelby's actual signature on it!
