I am fixing someone's Taurus that was ripped off. As I was sitting in the driver's seat I was wondering why anyone would steal a sun visor from a 1995 Taurus. Then I discovered what they did was remove the fabric part and then bent the metal part of the arm to use as a pry bar to get the radio out of the dash.
Also, they destroyed all the A/C vents and everything else trying to remove the radio from behind the dash ...
You would think because there is no way to install it from behind the dash it actually might be easier to remove it from the front of the dash.
Which goes to prove the theory criminals are idiots and many felonies are crimes of opportunity by people that will never brag about their 401k. An investment in a $5 removal tool and they would have been gone in 20 seconds after they smashed the window. I guess this way they are only caught with a screw driver and radio if they are stopped.
So if your car breaks down and you have to leave it for more then an hour, take your sun visors!
yeah a similar hapend to me in a wally world parking lot they smashed the pass window when the truck was unlocked , plus about a year latter i threw a belt in my sisters car they broke the door regulator and door lock to steal a 30 dollar stereo why?
