Question Trans IDent & Lift Kit Info

I have a couple of questions concerning my 1979 F150 4X4. It is a manual transmission, but which tranny is it? It is a 4 speed. It is original to the truck. I searched the forums, but can't seem to find what I was looking for. Someone told me it was a T-18, but that doesn't sound right.....

What lift kit seems to give the best ride? I don't do hard core off-roading, so ride comfort is going to be more important to me than hard core toughness.

Thanks for the help.

welcome to the club, i looked at a 78 a few years ago that had an original np435 in it and i've seen a few other ones that have had them. so it could go either way, the t-18 or the np435. as far as the lift kit, go check out the offroad forum, they are knowledgable about this kind of stuff
