I am the part owner,my 18year old son is the other part,OF A 1995 Full Size Bronco. This is my son's first vehicle and we had much work done to the vehicle already.New brakes all around, new trainy, rebuilt rear and rear drive shaft.Recently when the car starts the RPM'S go way up so we cannot put into gear.We shut it off and try again then it seems ok.Any help will be appreciated.
A friend of mine told me that it sounds like a rpm sensor. Is this something I can fix myself?

Sound like you've got a good thing going with your son. Makes them appreciate it more when they get that kind of help...and still have to do most of the work.
As far as your engine RPM's, just scroll down to the full-size Bronco forum and ask the guys down there. Add the year, engine size, and all kinds of good info.
the motor will idle high for a minuate or two at first startup . this is normal and should idle down to about 750rpms . Get yourself a haynes manual, it will help out alot
i would swing into an autoparts store and ask them to read the codes, its free and will help give a general area of issue. Could be the TPS which is on the underside of the throttlebody or the IAC which is a cylinder looking deal bolted to the side of the throttlebody on driver side. remove this and clean with some tb cleaner. do not use carb cleaner on the tb it will remove a special coating on it.
