Just got back from a trip from Portland to Denver. Total of 2572 miles added to the 800 already on my '04 SuperCrew. Overall gas mileage was 17.4 mpg. This includes long uphill pulls, all day long at 82 mph with the AC on full, running for hours at 7000 feet, and bucking a fierce headwind all the way back.
We had a wonderful time enjoying the exceptionally quiet and solid ride. The truck was just eating up the miles. The truck even corners better than any sedan I've had.
I did feel the dreaded 50 to 70 mph vibration. It was quite faint, and I hope it doesn't get worse. But I didn't really spend much time at those speeds!
Took our first long trip from Houston to Dallas. Was getting 17.2 while driving on C C. Moved it up to 18 when I drove manual. On the return, I got 20.1 and did manual all the way just to see. Yes the drive was super. I'm still not sure that I like the cornerning. Seems a little FAT vs my 2003 F150 King ranch. But,...the super smooth quiet ride means a whole lot more to me
Drove from Minneapolis MN to Houghton MI, got 18.3 mpg, driving a fairly consistant 65 mph. This was calculated from mileage and quantity of fuel measured at the pump. The on board computer measured the same trip at 17.5.

I should have said that I have the 5.4 V8, 4X4 SuperCrew.
just drove through western arizona and i was getting around 19 in my lariat screw 4x4. then i got bored because i was only going around 67-70 so i sped up to 95 and my mpg dropped almost half! i wish san diego wasn't as hilly i get 13.4 going 65.
I just did a 600 mile round trip on my 04 reg cab 4x4 flareside with a 4.6 V8 and averaged ( on interstate travel) 18.7 mpg. Around the streams where I was fishing the mpg's wre bad (15-16 mpg) but there was a lot of low speed putting around some in 4wd. I was very happy with the drive, no vibes and excellent cornering. Ran from Murphysboro, IL to Bennett Springs, MO. From St. Mary, MO I took I-55 to St. Louis the I-44 to Lebanon, MO. Very hilly and winding interstate and typical bumpy road conditions for MO highways. I was very pleased with my F-150.
I make trips back and forth from the Virginia coast area to the mountains in WVa. My truck is a Lariat crew cab. It's a 2wd with toneau cover. It's a 5.4 Triton. I am getting 20.5 mpg. That is running at 70-72 mph at 1800 rpm. The truck has 5500 miles on it.
Just returned from picking up my son at basic training, (US Army) PA to Fort Sill Oaklahoma and back, 1256 miles each way. scab, 4.6, 3.55 rear, averaged 18.6, best 19.3, worst 17.1. Drove like a dream, most comfortable ride I ever took. She is so smooth and handles so well, it felt like i was flying a plane!!
So far at 1247 miles I've put 70.3 gals of fuel in it. That's 17.3 mpg. It's about a 50/50 split on highway vs around town. Around town I'm seeing 15.5-16 and on the highway I've seen as high as 20.6mpg..
The trucks a 04' 150 4 x 4 Lariat Scab with 3.73LS rear and the tow package.
